Movie Review on: The Princess and The Frog

Frogs and Together Than Humans and Apart

“Don’t you worry daddy, we’ll be there soon.” That’s what Tiana said to the picture of her dad, meaning she won’t stop until her dream of owning a restaurant becomes true.

Tiana is a little girl with a big dream; she dreams of owning her own restaurant. As she grows up, she works as a waitress and saves every penny she makes. She is not like her friend, Charlotte, who is rich and wants to marry a prince.

She is invited to a masquerade party to serve food. As she is talking to the two men that are going to sell her the house for her to build her restaurant, she falls back and gets all dirty. She rapidly goes to her friend’s—the prince’s daughter—room and gets changed into a princess gown. She goes to the balcony and there she sees a frog. The frog was the famous Prince Naveen, which had recently gotten to town. He asked her for a kiss believing she was a princess and she kissed him.  Guess what happened… She became a frog!

They had to find their way of becoming humans again They traveled all over the bayou with a firefly which was in love with Evangeline, the wishing star and a crocodile that loved music. They passed through many problems while traveling the bayou and trying to get to Mama Odee, the only one who could take the spell away. They adventured and experienced true love while traveling.

This is the last 2D movie Disney has launched and the first one with an African- American princess. This movie features the voices of: Anika Noni Rose, Oprah Winfrey, Keith David, Jim Cummings, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis, Bruno Campos, Michael-Leon Wooley, Peter Bartlett Terrence Howard.

I loved that this movie was different from the rest of fairytales. Instead of the regular prince charming that waits for you, it includes hard work, dreams, and black magic. The other thing I liked about this movie was the significance of love. They preferred to stay as frogs together, rather than being humans and separate.

From dreams, to hard work, to frogs and black magic, to a prince charming and true love, there is nothing about this film I don’t like. I recommend this movie to people of all ages.
